Moab and the Messiah's Mercy II: Mercy from the King

Idea: God shows mercy to Moab by calling them to repent and trust in the promised Messiah. That message of mercy resounds throughout all history as God calls all men everywhere to repent and holds out peace and forgiveness to those who take refuge in Christ.

1. Moab's desperate condition. Forced to seek refuge by humbling themselves before Judah again.

2. God's reply. God extends mercy! God offers relief and forgiveness at the foot of the King, ultimately looking forward to Jesus.

3. Moab will not... Moab will not humble themselves before the King, so turn away in deep sorrow.

4. God speaks again. God still extends mercy to those would repent and trust in Christ.

Conclusion: God extends mercy at the foot of the King, Jesus Christ. You may find relief and forgiveness in Him. Have you turned away? There is no peace for the wicked. Have you thought yourselve beyond mercy? God still holds out salvation and mercy. Come to Christ!
