The Promised Rescue of the Righteous

The sovereignty of God is seen in two ways in verses 4 to 10. The wicked will be judged and righteous will be delivered. Peter gives three examples of God's judgement on sinful beings. The angels who sinned -verse 4, the world in the days of Noah -verse 5, and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah -verse 6.
Today we try to determine morality by what the majority of people think. God is not impressed. The whole world in the days of Noah was corrupt and the whole world was destroyed. Just about everybody thinks that sin is acceptable today. That means just about everybody will come into judgement.
