How Paul Was Prepared For Suffering

Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

Paul says "I am ready, I am prepared!" How can a man be prepared for what he does not know? Well, he knew what was coming. Paul was informed! He has been thinking about it throughout this journey and had faced that information with the Ephesian elders, his friends in Tyre, and now in Caesarea. Not only does Paul know what is coming for him, Paul has long since knew what it meant to follow Jesus from the beginning. Paul was prepared by the knowledge of what is soon coming for him, and the knowledge of what must come upon all that name the name of Jesus Christ. Paul not only was made ready in mind, but he was made ready by experience also, and finally Made Ready in Hope – The promises of suffering for the name of the Lord Jesus and The joy of entering into the fellowship of His sufferings.
