Standing Still Is A Grace Posture

12

There are conditions attached to being spiritually well. One of them is to be deliberately still. You need to be still and look well at the resting place of your faith. Moses told the people at an unusually strategic time,"Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." Many of you are familiar with the song, "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place". So, friend what really is the resting place of your faith? Has your faith really found a resting place? William Romaine, a notable minister of a former generation said, "How few attain and preserve in their consciences the sense of God's being perfectly at peace with them. It (their justified, reconciles status) ought to rule there always and by all means. But for lack of it, they give continual occasion for a legal unbelieving spirit to rob them... As guilt comes in, love and joy go out.
This message will help you get freshly postured on the right resting place: 1. Look at self-performance the way a woman views her marriage obligations to her deceased husband: zero, gone, over and done with. The law measures self-performance and we never measure up. This covenant needs to end. Note for instance Moses the lawgiver penalized for a seemingly comparative trifle, and Aaron likewise walking in his priestly garments to his own funeral in the sight of nearly all Israel: these shocking narratives (Numbers 20:1-13;22-29) are nothing else but the law principle applied. Cursed is everyone who continues not in ALL THINGS written in the book of the law to do them. 2. The grace of God meets you as and where you are: Numbers 21:5-9. This is just as amazing as the former narrative about Moses and Aaron except for opposite reasons.
