A Crown of Thorns

They put a crown of thorns upon his head. They scourged Jesus and put a purple robe on him and they struck him. These things they did to mock the Son of God and to humiliate him. Pilate presented Jesus to them and said: "Behold the Man". How cruel the sorrow of Jesus on our behalf, yet though he was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief he suffered willing for our sin.

" Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God '. Hebrews 12:2
