Chapter 34 is one of the darkest chapters in the book of Genesis. It contains the rape of Dinah and the slaughter and destruction of the town of Shechem. Why is this dark chapter here in the book? What are we to learn from this chapter where no one is described by Moses in a positive light? What we learn is much more relevant to our day than we may realize.
