The Grain Offering and the Believer

Leviticus is a book of blazing shadows cast backwards by the cross of Christ. If you want to hear a bit of the message Jesus delivered on the Road to Emmaus when he opened the scriptures to the disciples there - then give your attention to Leviticus. Every offering, feast and festival points to some aspect of the work of Christ.

In chapter 2 we see how the grain offering pictures the offering up of all of a man, his person and possessions. Ultimately this is fulfilled in Christ's surrender of himself to the will of God - but it reminds us that under the New Covenant we are called to surrender all.
