The Name and Ceremonial Obedience of the Messiah

Jesus' parents name Him in obedience to Gabriel's words. They then comply with the Old Covenant ceremonial regulations of circumcision, maternal purification & the dedication of their 1st born son. Jesus' parents are part of the pious remnant of Israel. We learn to appreciate the value of godly parents & the significance of Old Covenant ceremonial purity. We also learn to appreciate the fulfillment of prophecy & the name "Jesus."
