I Will Not Give My Glory to Another

Christ is the central figure of this passage. Verse nine presents one of the most important doctrines in the Bible. It is the forbearance of God. He wrote: "I will defer my anger". Historically, it is God putting off His judgment until He raises up the Babylonians. It typifies God delaying His judgment until Christ entered flesh, went to the Cross and endured God's wrath. The apostle Peter wrote, "the longsuffering (forbearance) of our Lord is salvation."
