Exclusive Psalmody - 3 - Songs of the Spirit

In our third sermon on Exclusive Psalmody we discover the author of the psalms is not David but the Holy Spirit. As the author of the psalms is perfect and infallible so too are the words that He has composed. That no mere man can compare to the divine composer of the psalms. In addition, we see how the psalms are new songs after the advent of Jesus Christ and to sing a new song is a command to sing the psalms with the light of the gospel shining upon them. Finally, our psalm singing is of no use, if we are not filled with the Spirit who inspired them, they are no use if we do not sing with faith and understanding.
