How Shall We Then Pray - Righteousness

9

The ten words (in the Authorized Version) which form the final words of James 5:16 have been a comfort and encouragement to God's people from the time that the Holy Spirit inspired James to write them to the churches and justifiably so. But when one meditates upon these words, it is easy to come away with more questions than answers. Words such as, effectual, fervent, righteous, availeth, and even the word much, when all put together can be somewhat confusing. What was James trying to tell us? Then, if one consults a different translation or refers to a commentary, the cloud is often thickened rather than lifted. In today's ministry of the Word, we will look at each word, and as we do, we will see unfolding before us a glorious promise and strong encouragement to persevere in prayer, to be confident in prayer, and to pray in hope which is founded upon the surest of foundations: the precious blood of the Savior, Jesus Christ. – Pastor Schlegel
