The Guiding Work of the Spirit

Jesus didn't tell His disciples everything they needed to know all at once. "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." On the eve of His crucifixion, Jesus' disciples were distracted by disappointment, a bit self-focused, quite preoccupied with events outside of their control. Sound familiar? "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…" What a blessed promise was fulfilled when Christ sent the Holy Spirit to indwell His followers! The Holy Spirit is our ever-present Guide; we thrive as disciples as we follow Him, or wither when we ignore His tender, truthful guidance.
