Do Not Refuse to Listen

This passage finishes on a note of warning. We consider - 'When God speaks, are we listening'? Some people wilfully and stubbornly refuse to do so. God spoke through the law at Mt. Sinai, but today He speaks to us through His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. If we do not heed what He says, judgement is bound to follow. The Lord uses many things to speak to us, even pandemics! We cannot afford not lo listen.

True listeners are taken up with heaven, and the benefits of an eternal glory. They also realise that God is also a 'consuming fire'. With this in mind, we need to step back from sin. to ensure that we do not descend into apostasy. In view of what God has given us in His Son, the grace we are to have is the truly spiritual response of a saved man or woman.
