When Grace Overflows (Luke 6:27-36)
Series Luke: The Gospel of Joy
240
In this 36th sermon through Luke's Gospel, our Lord is once again shining a spotlight on the difference between believers and unbelievers. We have already seen that believers alone can live the "blessed" life, while unbelievers will live lives of woe. Now Jesus teaches us another core difference: believers, by the power of the Holy Spirit, are able to love their enemies. This isn't just an emotive love, but rather it is a love that does good to, blesses, and prays for our enemies. This is perhaps the hardest command given to us in Scripture, but it is also one that Jesus has given us the power to fulfill, both by His example and His Spirit. Listen along as we hear Christ's call to have Christian love for our enemies.
