Death and Sovereignty

Jacob dies, leaving instructions for his burial in the promised land -- an act of faith that he continues to believe that God will keep His promise to give Israel the promised land. Joseph's brothers worry that, with Jacob gone, Joseph will take vengeance on them, and humble themselves before him. But Joseph displays faith both in his leaving all vengeance to God, and, when his time for death comes, requesting that he, too, be buried in the promised land.
