A Question of Faith: Do We Live by or Because of Our Faith?

501 years ago while studying Romans 1, Martin Luther discovered the true meaning of the word justification. Reading Romans 1:17 Luther solidified the doctrine of salvation by faith alone which is a gift of God, not a work we do. However, many argue that Paul misquoted Habakkuk 2:4 which actually argues that faith is a work we must do to be saved. Is there a conflict between Habakkuk and Paul?
