A Perfect Law

The Law of God in summary form comes to us through a covenant mediator who instructs us in what is pleasing to God. It is carefully applied to the unique situation of the hearer and wrapped in encouragements to obedience. As we hear God giving His law to the people of Israel we must also hear and obey. Further we also are encouraged in this by the perfection of the law. Our obedience as members of the New Covenant proceeds from the obedience that Jesus provides in our place in gratitude for the salvation He has accomplished for us.
