Man's Accountability Relating To Alcohol

Continuing our Wisdom series, Pastor Simpson, for our first-hour service, brought an introduction to Proverbs 20 starting at verse one. Pastor Simpson not only spoke on the topic of God's sovereignty, but also on our accountability; not responsibility. Mankind has no responsibility in the role of salvation; we are; however, accountable for our actions and behavior. These two themes, God's sovereignty and man's responsibility, are woven throughout the Word of God; Proverbs 20 speaks predominantly to man's accountability. The first verse of the twentieth chapter addresses the matter of alcohol. Do you think it's ok to drink alcohol? Do you control your alcohol or does your alcohol control you? There are some that are of the conviction that a believer should abstain from alcohol altogether and there are those that believe it's ok to drink alcohol in moderation. Pastor Simpson addressed this very issue in this morning's message; one I'm sure you'll not want to miss!
