Lest We Drift Away

The writer of Hebrews argues from the premise that the greatness of the
Messenger reflects the greatness and glory of the message. Having
established the superiority of Christ over all the messengers of Old
Covenant revelation in Ch. 1 (prophets and angels), the writer then urges
us to "give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard". He
strengthens this with the warning, "lest we drift away." Dare we ignore
this warning?
