Certainty in the Midst of Darkness

President Bush recently again asserted that Christians and Muslims pray to the same god. Sadly this is not a new belief or trend. For many years it has been stated that Christians and unbelieving Jews also pray to the same god. It is only natural that politicians will add Islam to this list as the Muslim population in America has drastically increased in the last 20 years. A similar debate continues of course over the false religion of Mormonism, which again many would believe is just another branch of Christianity. I think we sometimes don't realize how totally radical our beliefs are in comparison to much of the nation.
In the midst of the darkness and confusion that overwhelms so much of our nation and Western culture, we have been given a sure word from God. We can have certainty in the midst of darkness.
This morning we will cover verses 19-21 in three parts. First, the certainty of the prophetic word, and second, the encouragement to give heed to this word; and third, the sure origin of the prophetic word.
