The Gospel According to God

Trace your salvation back to its origin and you’ll find God, not yourself. The Scripture says: “… (God) saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began…” 2 Timothy 1:9 (NKJV) Did you catch that last part? God purposed long before we were born to bring salvation to sinners, make us holy, and bring us to heaven. However mysterious, God’s grace in salvation is humbling, and prompts immense gratitude. We also can live with stability and confidence, knowing our eternal safety rests in God’s hands, not our own! I pray our faith is strengthened as we continue our study of 2 Timothy with, “The gospel according to God.”
