Theology and the Broken Heart

All Job asked was that his friends show kindness and understanding, and instead he got a lecture from Eliphaz that was entirely beside the point. Suffering is real, grief is real, and sympathy, not a stern lecture, is needed by the suffering. That we find in God at the cross of Jesus Christ, that God is not afar off and unfeeling, but with us, in the midst.
