Grace in Judgment

39

Aim: To live and breathe grace, in Jesus our Savior.

The natures of grace and judgment: grace is God-saturation; judgment is a death sentence.

Exegesis: How grace in judgment is shown: through covenantal (vv. 12-14), compassionate (vv. 15-17), conceding (vv. 18-22), and cleansing (vv. 23-29) mercy.

Further application: Do we experience grace or judgment? Grace = Christ-righteousness; judgment = self-righteousness.

Key verse v. 16 ''And while [Lot] lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.''
