Do you sometimes become afraid that someone might become equal to you in eminence and position, respect and possessions? That's envy. But there's more to envy than that; so don't be too quick to say "I don't have a problem with that."
I don't know of any passage that will send you more quickly to the cross than 1 Corinthians 13. Because it will just rip open your heart when you rightly understand what Paul's talking about. It'll show you your sin. It'll show you your need for forgiveness. It'll show you your need for salvation. It'll show you your need for the help of the Holy Spirit because you CAN'T live this kind of life. You can't love this way. Apart from the help of Jesus Christ.
