DISCLAIMER: George Whitefield was a Calvinistic Methodist. While there are things that should be observed in this message, there are others that should be avoided. Let the listener discern which.

The Almost Christian George Whitefield (1714–1770) Most readers of Puritan literature are immediately familiar with the lengthier treatise on this same subject and text by Matthew Mead, entitled The Almost Christian Discovered (or, The False Professor Tried and Cast)—though the following sermon, by George Whitefield, is also helpful. Whitefield was a dynamic and passionate preacher who helped spark 'The Great Awakening' in the American colonies and Britain in 1740. What follows is taken from volume 6 of his Works. "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." Acts 26:28
