Love as Jesus Loved (Pt 2)

It really is impossible to love people as Jesus loved them. But that's the point. As we obey Jesus, God shows us our self-centeredness. He exposes our sins and the Holy Spirit enables us to put them to death. Our condition is suddenly more in line with our position. We love others, even difficult people, and Jesus promises that we will remain in God's love. Our joy is overflowing. Once you really start loving people with God's love, you won't want to live any other way. As you love other people, you see how cold and bitter you've been in the past. It breaks you. God brings compassion into your heart. You can't keep on living with other people as if Jesus had never come into your life.
