Toward Joy in Life

Nehemiah 8.10 says that the joy of the LORD is our strength. There are times when you need correction and discipline for wrongdoing. Along with those times, you need help and direction to do what is right. The people in Nehemiah had heard the reading of God's Word for the first time in a long time. They were very sad when they heard it because they knew they had done so many wrong things. Nehemiah said that the joy of the LORD would be their strength. They needed to understand how good and merciful God was even in the face of their wrongdoing and faithlessness. Moving toward joy meant moving toward God.
