Cleaning House

On Monday morning of Passion week, we will see what Jeus thinks about what the worship of God had been turned into. Worship has always had the One True God as its object and from the heart. John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” The Lord is not impressed with the appearance of religion. Even in the tabernacle, the Holy Place and Holy of Holies was covered with animal’s skin. The tabernacle was not impressive from an outer look, but inwardly, the walls were covered in gold. The Lord desires hearts filled with faith which is more precious than gold. This morning, we will enter Jerusalem with Jesus and get a glimpse of what worship had been turned into. The title today will be “Cleaning House.” We will consider the following 1) Religion Can Have the Appearance of Life But Have No Spiritual Fruit 2) The Worship of God is first about Holiness instead of Business 3) The Worship of God is About Knowing and Communing with God
