Godliness is profitable but not in the way false teachers are motivated by, model, and teach. False teachers pursue the prestige, material and financial gains while corrupting the Word of God and deceptively leading people away from God. The real gain of godliness in life and lifestyle is the contentment, joy, and peace that only the sufficiency of Christ provides. God will always provide His people with all they need to be faithful and effective in doing the work in His service and living a life of godliness.
