Vengeance on the Midianites

As we follow the story line of Numbers, there are several events that are important, but didn't in my estimation deem an entire sermon. For this reason, point 1. will look at several events before we begin our study proper of Numbers 31.
This chapter is profound in terms of it's implications. If this is what Lord could do with 12,000 soldiers, what might He accomplish in their full strength (620,000)?

The judgment of the Midianites is typological in that it portrays the great security and blessing of walking with the Lord and doing what He says.

The response of the soldiers becomes a picture as well of the fitting response to all that the Lord does for his people. Thanks be to God for His provision.
