They that Know — Know!

Storming the Enemies Gate

Reflecting on two things today that connects to our time in Daniel 11. When Jonathan said... "For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few." God is not limited by how little we have and He's not helped by how much we have... it's irrelevant before Him. And when Samuel reveals to King Saul that... "obedience is better than sacrifice." God never intended for us to make it our aim to be really good at bringing a sacrifice before Him. Meaning, that we can't live how we want and just cover it with a real good sacrifice. His grace has always been given to empower, equip, and encourage us to live for His glory... and as we find that we unintentionally missed His mark, we, out of sorrow and thanksgiving, submit an offering, covered with praise and adoration, before His gracious throne.

When God doesn't accepts us, He doesn't accept what we offer Him.

God sees through our attempts to cover up our disobedience with a sacrifice.

A sacrifice aimed to cover up disobedience is nothing more than a bribe...

It's always better to obey the Lord than to attempt to cover up your disobedience with a sacrifice.

1 Samuel 15:22

Saul governed without being governed

He did not cultivate nor protect the connection God made possible through His grace.

It's always been a matter of the heart... if He doesn't accept us, He'll never accept our offerings. He makes us acceptable when we trust and obey Him... and then our offering becomes an extension of our faith and adoration to Him and His grace. So there you have it, what I'm pondering today... He's not limited by my lack or by your much…
