The Testimony of Sufferings and Glory

In the text before us today, the Apostle Peter continues to show that the redemption we have through Christ is according to the eternal foreknowledge of God and is truly blessed. He also shows us that the blessings of such redemption are permanent and incorruptible because of who God is. And last Lord's Day, we saw that the loving foreknowledge of God and the eternal blessedness of our redemption are not cancelled by any present suffering and trials we may be experiencing. Now, the apostle shows us that this message is the same as what was preached all throughout history. The prophetic message has always been this: first the suffering, then the glory – even for the Savior.
