My God, Why does He say this? Part 2. Why does God say Psalm 22:1 from the cross?

There are 7 sayings from the Cross. The 4th saying is Psalm 22:1... the one we've been covering, in case you've just joined us.

Never think of the 7 sayings in a way that makes God week. People want to use this to take away God's Deity.

Why does God include Psalm 22 verse 1 from the cross? Then God included the sayings of the two thieves. Never say, or even think, what the blaspheming thief says. But the first thief asks Christ to remember him.

Luke 23:39. Dying men are determined to do stuff like this.

Link “My God, My God…” with the 7th saying. You cannot even conceive that God can stop being God. God doesn't need to be saved and He cannot be forsaken. It is blasphemy to say that He has forsaken Himself. He is Omnipotent God.

Think about what Satan says to Him in Matthew 4. If you are God throw yourself down.

One Thief, 3 Blasphemies. There are 3 blasphemies’ here. "If" is the first. "Save Yourself" is the second. Then "Save me" is the third. What does the saved thief say? “Remember me…”

Now on to this question. Why did He say "I thirst"?

Also... why did they beat their breasts?

Luke 23:46 He says "Father, into Thy hands I commend My Sprit." Who can say that to God? Only God can say that to God. He's the only one who has the authority to say that.

Note to Pastors: If you’re thinking that your sermon prep is done, we are honored that you think that way, but… You might want to call our pastor first. I’m sure he’ll have some good advice.

For you who have encouraged our pastor with phone calls, letters and emails, we thank you. For those who are lead to support this little ministry, we appreciate you more than you know. Thank You.
