Made to Be Remembered

97

The Psalmist praises the wonderful works of God, that are sought out by those who delight in them. He exclaims that God's great works are made to be remembered.

All through the Psalms and prophets, Scripture exhorts God's people to recall the great works of God, so that they will trust in Him alone.

The wonderful works of God should be sought out by God's people. What a great exhortation to the Christian scientist! The old-time scientists who were Believers often exclaimed about the greatness of God's creation. The more we learn today about the creation, the more marvelous and impossible it becomes to fully understand.

In our own lives, God's providence has brought His people unto Himself. How intricate and lovely are the strands of time that God wove to draw us unto our Savior!

God's providence is so integral to everything, that we dismiss it as background noise. Oh that we would seek out His great works and praise Him for them!

But He made them to be remembered! Our faith will be strengthened as we contemplate God's mighty power.

The feast of Passover was meant to remind the Israelites of God's greatest salvation of them from Egypt.

So too, the Lord's Table was instituted by Jesus to remind us of His great work at Calvary. That work is sought out by those who love Him! That work was made to be remembered by our Savior, and we delight to remember it!

The death of our Lord Jesus for us is the greatest work of God! It is the work that cost God something that He dearly loves - His own precious Son!

The greatest work is the costliest work, and it is the most valuable to the Saints!

How privileged are we to be invited to celebrate it!
