Foolishness and Wisdom: Part Six; A Special Kind of Headship for Husbands

The Holy Spirit reestablishes the roles of husband and wife. Both are to exhibit the character of Jesus Christ. The husband's authority must be exercised only to honor Christ. Husbands must know what it means to honor Christ and to exercise preserving care of his wife and children. All authority is tempered by love. Christ's love for His church is the example the husband must follow. The husband can no longer condemn his wife's sins and failures.

Christ is preparing His church for something special by using the Word. He gave Himself for His church to present her to Himself. If you love and serve your wife you love and care for yourself. He ought to know what motivates his wife, what are her hopes, her dreams. He needs to be attentive and communicative. A man must romance his wife, and admire her as Christ admires and romances His church. You must court your wife all her life. You most always love being together. Make your wife glad she's a woman and glad she's your wife.
