What I want to do in this particular message is to show you that the things that Job was suffering, according to his own words, were much like those of our Lord Jesus Christ. In doing this, I want to show you how Job's sufferings were something that Christ suffered under as well, in a greater way, so that Job would be forgiven of all of his sins, and established in his righteousness by and through Christ's grace. In relating these things, I believe that it will help us to see more of the reasons why God permits trials to take place in our lives. It is so that we might become more like the blessed Lord Jesus our Savior and Redeemer. Let me draw 3 comparisons between Job and Christ in their sufferings. In relating these things to you, it is my prayer that we will bring these truths of the greatness of Christ's redemption with us into the Lord's Supper and meditate upon them, to the encouragement and strengthening of our hearts.

Jesus is the Spirit Anointed Messiah of Israel. John's theme is that Jesus is the One who surpasses him, one Essence with the Father. But John says - I did not know the magnitude of His Person and His Work. But the Father revealed these things to me. The word of the Lord came to him. The same is true for you and me as well. The Holy Spirit must illuminate our minds and our hearts to the truth concerning Christ and our need of Him.

Jehovah presents the Lord Jesus, as the eternal God, without beginning or end. He is the great "I AM" of all time and eternity, wonderfully in charge of all His creation, working all things after the counsel of His own will. Here we look at our Savior's claim during His earthly ministry to be Jehovah, the door of the sheep. Not only is He the shepherd of the sheep, He is the door of the sheep. As the door of the sheep, He is the only way of salvation, the narrow way or gate. There is, and could be no other way to provide sinners with a perfect salvation that also completely satisfies the holiness of God.

God has reached out to all sinners everywhere in 4 gracious actions that welcome sinners into His grace. God has given us His word, He has given us Jesus Christ our Lord, the Lord of all. He has given understanding to certain men whose minds are darknened by sin. And He has given His people command to preach this gospel to sinners wherever they may meet them . The imperative which flows out of this is - Believe the gospel. Will you repent and believe the gospel of Christ.
