The Life of Eternal Destiny. John 12:24-26Chapter 12 begins with a party and then moves into a parade as Jesus... the Lamb of God... rides into Jerusalem for the Passover Celebration. But He not only arrived in Jerusalem to celebrate Passover... He arrived as God's Passover lamb! Not for a celebration... but a crucifixion. Jesus wants our attention here, indicated by the words "Verily, Verily" which mean "Truly, Truly." Fruitfulness in your life is the result of fulfilling the purpose for which you were created. For a seed to become fruitful, it must be planted and die. If the seed doesn't die, it abides alone and is wasted. When we are unwilling to be planted by the Lord and fulfill His purpose for our lives, we waste our lives away. We float like seeds. We may also feel empty and lonely.Christians are like seeds. They are small and insignificant, but have life within them, the Holy Spirit. The abundant life that the Lord has for us will not be fulfilled unless we surrender to the Lord and are yielded to Him. When a man dies to self, and buries his personal ambitions and aims, God can begin to use him for His glory as he endeavors to serve the Lord.In order to produce a harvest... the farmer has to plant a seed. And once that seed is planted... it dies. But through the seed's death... comes life! If a farmer never sacrificed the seed in the ground... if he never buried the seed and let it die... he would never have a harvest! The seed must first die before it can produce a harvest... so the Son of God had to first die and be buried to be raised from the dead in order to produce a harvest of souls!His death took our death! He became sin so that we might be saved!

God gives a renewal of his promise in the hearing of Sarah. She is made to hear what the Lord will do in giving her the Son of Promise, who is a picture of Christ, the seed of woman. After understanding this we close with seeing an allegory from this same text picturing what God works in the heart of his children through the preaching of Christ, the promised seed in the Covenant of Grace. To avoid confusion let me add that the implied meaning of the last verse quoted was intended to be heard in the context of the allegory.

Psalm 33 Genesis 12, 22 Matthew 1

In Isaiah 55:1-13, we are introduced to Yahweh's love for the nations through a 3-fold description of the way to eternal life. I. The one desiring eternal life must come to partake of the free gift of the Servant's work (v. 1). II. The one desiring eternal life must listen and learn about entering the covenant made with the King and his Kingdom (vs. 2–5). III. The one desiring eternal life must receive Yahweh's gifts of compassion and pardon: A. By seeking and calling on Yahweh (v. 6). B. By repenting: forsaking his own way and wisdom (v. 7a, b). turning to Yahweh (v. 7c, d). C. By understanding the character and promises of Yahweh. His way and wisdom are greater than ours (vs. 8–9). His word will accomplish his purposes (vs. 10–11). His work will bring eternal joy

God establishes an enmity between the the race of men and the race of the serpent and promises to send a descendant of the woman who will bring this war to an end by crushing the serpent's head.

Jesus has come as the Seed of the woman, the Seed of Abraham, and the Son of David. He is not only the promised King, but God the Son, Who conquers Satan and obeys in our place—and Who pours out God the Spirit upon us to give us life by His Word.

There's a bleak future for the world (Seed of Satan), which the Prophet speaks of the stock in which it is coming from, that is bearing the characteristics of their Father the Devil. Some would be those described in Romans chapter 1, those also called cursed children, Brood of Vipers, Jesus said they do the deeds of their father the devil.. An all-time low of morality among men, especially the women where they are called adulterers and adulteresses.
