What does it look like to labor for the Lord? Philemon vv1–7 prepares us for the second serial reading in public worship on the Lord's Day. In these seven verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that believers are prisoners, family, and coworkers of Jesus and one another.
In this passage, James gives us many imperatives and illustrations to consider when we are going through injustice. Although it will be challenging, true believers will strive to be patient in every trial until the return of their Savior, who will bless their endurance.
Jehovah presents the Lord Jesus, as the eternal God, without beginning or end. He is the great "I AM" of all time and eternity, wonderfully in charge of all His creation, working all things after the counsel of His own will. Here we look at our Savior's claim to be the resurrection and the life. All power and authority are His and He will raise all, both the lost and the saved, and He will be their judge.
Closing Thought: Reward and punishment will be distributed upon Christ's return. Blessed is the wise and faithful slave who will inherit the Kingdom of God. Differing levels of punishment will be doled out to the unfaithful slaves, based on their level of defiance. But all of the punishment will be in eternal torment, separated from God's mercy forevermore. Ready or not, He's coming. Are you ready for the Master's return?
Closing Thought: Jesus is coming again to save those who eagerly wait for Him. Our Shepherd, Father, King has given us the Kingdom, so we need not worry, be anxious, or seek after the things of this world. By His grace, let's live each day as if He were coming immediately to take us home.
New Heart, New Spirit_36Pt1 Introduction to Ezekiel 40 the Millennial temple design.God has always wanted His people to have a very special place where they can worship Him and seek His face in prayer. From the beginning of history, God's people have worshiped Him at some kind of temple or sanctuary. They have sought His face at places ranging from the beautiful surroundings of the Garden of Eden to altars built from rocks in open fields. They have worshiped Him in tents and huts as well as in enormous temples and churches. There are at least three reasons why God wants His people to have a sanctuary or temple, a very special place set apart for worship and prayer: 1.Because the worship center symbolizes the Lord's presence, a place where His presence is manifested in a special way and can be experienced by the true worshiper.2. Because the worship center is the place where people can meet God for special worship, whether seeking the LORD individually or as a corporate body in worship. 3. Because the worship center stands as a testimony to God's Name, that He is the living and true God who is to be worshiped and served.
