In this episode of "Faith & Practice," Dr. Pipa and Pastor Groff handle a diverse array of questions pertaining to church government, Christian education, biblical ethics, and Old Testament theology.
How should members respond to a session that is small and overworked, but may appear to be rushing to elect new elders?
Why do we make distinctions in the office of Elder, and how should we understand the various categories (e.g., Pastor, Teacher/Doctor, etc.) today?
How do you know if your church has a true plurality (and parity) of elders?
How should the church organize and conduct Sunday School?
What biblical principles apply to how to steward our physical health?
How should we view magic in literature and entertainment?
When the Israelites left Egypt, how did they all have tents already at their disposal?
While wandering in the desert for 40 years, what was the nature of the work that the Israelites did?

We continue our series on the Christian family and consider the theme of Education. We find that the education of covenant children must be God-centered, for they belong to Him. All education is moral and so our youth must be educated with a curriculum that posits that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Education has several aims including the imparting of morals and the creation of citizens. The question is what kingdom our children will be educated to become citizens of. Proverbs 9:10 and other pertinent texts.

The second paper presented at the 70th Free Church School in Theology on Tuesday 5 September. The paper was a report from the Presbytery of Navarre & Aragon and was presented by Revs Jorge Ruiz Ortiz and Hugues Pierre.
How can one know he is really saved from his sin? How do you know you are a Christian? There is one "yes or no", "true or false" question to know for sure! Be encouraged with the double witness answer to this all important question.

Psalm 37 falls into the classification of "wisdom psalms." Wisdom psalms expand the simple truth that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (). Wisdom psalms sound a bit like they could be found in the book of Proverbs. This psalm has similar themes to the first part of Proverbs 24 (see esp. 1, 19). And so, while this psalm is a good psalm for anyone, it can be especially applicable for students especially near the start of this academic year.
Wisdom is practical. It isn't the same as book-smarts. Wisdom is knowing how to obey God even when facing the complexities of life in a fallen world.
