We conclude the outlined survey of Leviticus by looking at the fact that Israel was to be a sanctified people. They were called out by the Lord to be separate from the nations around them. even so, when comparing Israel to a New Testament Christian individually, we too are called out to be a separate and sanctified believer in this present evil world.
God has given us patterns and pictures throughout scriptural history that point toward and reveal the gospel of Jesus Christ, both doctrinally and practically, unto his people. Noah and his household, the ark, the flood, and the rainbow point to our Savior and King, his blood and his living water, baptism, and covenant.
LORD'S DAY 35
96. What does God require in the second Commandment?
That we in no way make any image of God, nor worship Him in any other way than He has commanded us in His Word.
May we not make any image at all?
God may not and cannot be imaged in any way; as for creatures, though they may indeed be imaged, yet God forbids the making or keeping of any likeness of them, either to worship them or to serve God by them.
But may not pictures be tolerated in churches as books for the people?
No, for we should not be wiser than God, who will not have His people taught by dumb idols, but by the lively preaching of His Word.
The Holy Spirit is SPIRIT... as the Father and the Son is Spirit…
We have pictures in the Bible which helps us to understand who He is and what He does.
The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is a SEAL.

The Bible also tells us that the Holy Spirit is like WIND.

We cover the dietary (kosher) laws with emphasis on rightly dividing and applying them technically only to the Dispensation of Mosaic Law. But we see the type/shadow picture of "clean vs. unclean" and comparing Scripture with Scripture in 2 Corinthians 6:17, see the need to be cleansed from all unrighteousness (1 john 1:9) by the blood of Jesus Christ.
