The Lord gives us a picture of the ministration of the gospel word to feed, nourish and refresh the people of God. All whom the Lord brings into his local assemblies are to be given the gospel word. It is under the declaration of Christ crucified that the weary sinner finds rest from their labors and forgiveness of sins.
🗡️ Sermon delivered at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 6:15 pm. 🗡️
This expository sermon is based on 1 Timothy 4:6 and gives a warning of apostasy in the church.
The dire America has is for good ministers of Jesus Christ. This sermon talks about the importance of good ministers being nourished up in the right things; namely, the words of faith and good doctrine.
1 Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

The Primary Responsibility of the householder, scribe, pastor, is to bring forth the treasure of old things and new things.
A faithful minister will be teaching himself and others to put away all sin and become a doer of the word.
Looking into the mirror of the word of God will lead you to the Laver, of washing; cleansing yourself from all defilement of flesh and spirit.
Looking into the Mirror of the Word will transform us from one degree of glory to another by the Spirit.
Guest minister, Rev. Sam Ketcham, preaches on Mark 12:38-40, where Christ warns the people of the sins of the religious elite.

II. Beware of a misunderstanding (v.38-39).
III. Beware of abusive relationships (v.40a).
IV. Beware of religious hypocrisy (v.40b).
V. Beware of greater damnation (v.40c)

These exhortations that Timothy was to live by as a faithful minister are the same principles that we are to live by as faithful Christians. We are to draw upon God's gracious strength; this is fundamental to our lives as Christians. We must also be single-minded – like soldiers, athletes, and farmers – and keep our focus on Jesus, because that is the only thing that will ultimately satisfy us. If our life is not filled with Christ, it will be empty. When we look at ourselves, we will see ourselves as failures. But this is where the Gospel comes in... Even though we are faithless, Jesus remains faithful. And nothing can separate us from His love! Having a Gospel-centered approach to life will help us take the risks that are associated with whatever work God calls us to do.
Today we're taking a closer look at the forty-second chapter of the Book of Ezekiel.

the spiritual leaders of Christ's holy church should be carefully chosen and then carefully followed for Jesus' sake.
Carefully Choosing Church Leaders
The Universal Gospel Ministry
Carefully Following Church Leaders
The Scribe that Jesus is talking about is a minister of the word of God. He would be, or is, a pastor or regular minister of the word of God. He is a man who is like the master of a household. In this case, overseeing the house of God, in a local church. This scribe in the kingdom of heaven has a treasure of wisdom and knowledge coming from his study of the Scriptures, and his experience in living the Christian life. He can explain many good things about this kingdom, both new and old to all of his household.
When the pastor retires, goes to be with the Lord or for any reason leaves active ministry, what shall be his legacy before his master and Lord? What might men say of his service to God and to His people? In this message Pastor Elly helps us to reflect on this vital issue
