We continue with Bible examples such as Elisha, etc., to show there is no proof of lying or even so-called holy lying in several of them. The Bible calls us to be silent at proper times. This is a crucial doctrine to understand is this age of blabber-mouths, gossips, false accusers, liars, tattlers, tale-bearers, and fools.
Let's take a checkup ... a spiritual MRI to see how many of the old things are passed away in us. These 21 vices of a depraved society are extremely practical in detailing a heart that has wandered from Christ. Let there be light! The Light of Christ's Gospel in our life.
We've talked about how God hates a lying tongue, but there is an even more destructive relative of a lying tongue. It is the cause of a lot more grief and suffering right down where we all live, and destruction to the cause of Christ, and the church in general: A False Witness. Speaking Lies.
What transformations will come, in the great work of the Lord? Isaiah 29:15–24 prepares us for the first serial reading in public worship on the Lord's Day. In these ten verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that in the great work of the Lord, His transformation of the creation will correspond to His transformation of His people.

We had a guest preacher this evening. His name was Charles G. Finney. He has been dead for about 150 years, and it was my voice but he who did the preaching as I read this sermon this evening. This message has dealt with me so deeply for so long, and I decided that Mr. Finney was much more able to communicate this very important truth than me. It is life changing and will deal with every heart that has a desire to please God and do what is is right in his sight. Unforgettable!
Sometimes people ask questions to determine the truth, but they sometimes ask them to avoid the truth. In this passage, we consider how the Pharisees sought to avoid the plain miracle in front of them!
Matt and Alan talk about a difficult one another as they finish 2 Thessalonians. Admonish one another. What does it look like to be motivated by love and patience with the goal of peace and restoration as we gently warn our brothers and sisters in Christ in a gospel community?
Pastor Jesse talks more about leadership.

A Deacon's first testing ground and ongoing chief priority in his ministry is overseeing the service of his own household, so that he may be well-equipped to oversee the service of a congregation of households that maintain the same covenantal priority.
Beware of teachers who add or subtract from the scriptures. Beware of those whose fruit does not match their words. And beware of those who insist that certain physical acts must be done to earn or maintain your salvation.
Abigail: A Woman of Wisdom1 Samuel 25:14-17,23-28,32-35The choices we make can put us on the path of wisdom or on the path of folly. One way leads to life while the other leads to death.Step in to keep a bad situation from getting worse. In 1 Samuel 25, we encounter three people: Nabal on the path of foolishness;Abigail on the path of wisdom; and David wavering between the two paths. In 1 Samuel 25, we will see how Abigail intervened in the life of David when he was headed toward foolishness and destruction. We will learn how God wants to use us to intervene in the lives of others. We must employ discernment and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit when deciding how to intervene.Abigail was intelligent or discerning.Abigail showed humility and respect. Abigail went in person to talk to David. David agreed with Abigail by crediting the Lord God of Israel as the One who prevented him from making a disastrous decision.Father, give us the wisdom and courage we need to step into harm's way to avert the consequences of poor decisions made by others.
The account of the adulterous woman challenges modern sensibilities. Some think there should be more sexual freedom, and others think this story proves that the Bible's unreliable. Today, we consider how this account proves that the Lord can be trusted!
