I. Where is the leading of the Holy Spirit. A. In true missionaries for Christ. B. Not in false prophets. II. What the Holy Spirt leads to. A. Confronting of evil. B. Conversion to Christ.

In this part one of a two-part study, we discover that the ministry of the new covenant of the Spirit is synonymous with the ministry of the gospel. This is important to you for this critical reason: Only the ministry of the new covenant of the Spirit will facilitate the forming of the image of Christ in you. Only the narrative of Christ and the new covenant which he consecrated in his own blood will produce Christlike character in you. And this is an imperative before God.

How does the Lord show mercy to those who prefer human wisdom to God's authoritative Word? Isaiah 30 prepares us for the first serial reading in public worship on the Lord's Day. In these thirty-three verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that if men prefer their own wisdom to God's Word, it is a mercy when God visits their plans with devastating failure.

Many claim to believe in Jesus Christ, but do not hold fast to Him. They perhaps have said a prayer, but they fall prey to false teachings, are surprised by suffering and eventually they turn away from the Lord. Here the Apostle closes the letter with his personal autograph, again, encouraging the church by what he says in order that they may persevere in their faith to the very end!

What must a pastor do, in addition to affirming the truth? Titus 3:9–11 prepares us for the second serial reading in public worship on the Lord's Day. In these three verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that in addition to affirming the truth, a pastor must avoid uses of the Bible that are not in keeping with the Bible.

This week in our sermon titled "The Shepherd's Rod (Part V)" we continue our examination of the pastor's charge to protect God's flock from false shepherds. An obligation which is given to them in Titus 1:10-16. We are at war in a spiritual battle in these "last days." How should we live during the present age, between the Christ's first coming (the inauguration of the victory of God) and His return (where he will consummate this victory and remove evil)? God hath set some in the church...and men have set some in the church. There is a great difference in the two. Those whom God hath set in the church are prepared by God, and those who men have set in the church are prepared of men. The fruit of these two are very different, also. One to life and the other to death. It is the Christian's duty to be discerning in this matter and seek out those that God has prepared and put in his churches, according to what the Bible says about them.

New movements such as Pronomianism or more familiar sects like Mormonism & Catholicism often espouse everything from the keeping of Old Testament festivals, regulations, and food laws to the prohibition of marriage. Does Salvation come through the keeping of these laws or practices, or by faith in the atoning work of Christ alone? Shepherding is an ancient practice, but its one rich with biblical imagery. In this passage, we consider just who Jesus is to God's people!

Nothing is worse than being lied about, your character disparaged your trustworthiness doubted, or the feelings you experience when realizing you have believed a lie. Most of the problems in our world and lives would be resolvable if lying tongues were dealt with the way God deals with them. God hates a lying tongue. May our tongues not be the bearers of of lies.

Luke records the growing tension between the Jewish elders and Jesus. They both had expectations of the kingdom of God and the Messiah who would rule it. However, both had very different notions about how and when that kingdom would appear. Luke 6 narrows the controversy to one of the main institutions of Judaism--the Sabbath. Here Luke records two incidents that demonstrate Jesus was truly the "Lord of the Sabbath."
