Why does God redeem sinners? Psalm 105 prepares us for the opening portion of public worship on the Lord's Day. In these forty-five verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that God redeems sinners to display His glory in faithfulness, power, mercy, generosity, and wisdom.
Seal Judgments: The Scripture speaks of the tribulation that the Lord would bring on those that trouble His people. These first four seal judgments will commence in the first half of the Tribulational period.
Before we partake of the Communion, this morning, I would like to open up this phrase – "Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end." 1st of all – I want to explain to you some ways in which He had loved them thus far. Then, 2nd – I want to explain the way that He would love them at that present time. And finally, 3rd – I want to explain the ways that He loved them to the end. As Christ loves all who know Him in these same ways, we should receive these truths for the strengthening of our own souls at this time, and on into the future, as we live our life for Him.
The Gospel of the Kingdom - Message 109 - The End of the Age - Matthew 24:1-14. Matthew 24:1-2 presents the climax of Jesus' predictions and declarations against the Jewish religious leaders as He talks with His disciples about the coming destruction of the Temple and the end of the Old Testament era. In chapters 24 & 25, Jesus discusses the near future for His disciples and then the reality of His Second Coming, warning all along about deceivers and false prophets that will seek to use world events to build a following by manipulating people through fear.
8th message in the 1st John series. This first of a two part message preached from the pulpit of Lewis Lane Central Baptist Church, Church Hill, Tennessee. Preaching on how we know we are in the end times by the trouble in Israel and the wickedness of America and the world.
Studies on the end times can be an exercise in speculation. The prospect of looking into a crystal ball is alluring. But eschatology driven by mere curiosity is a sure sign of spiritual disinterest. End-times theology is vital to the eternal state of our souls. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil" (2 Cor. 5:10).
Studying the end times can be helpful if we ask the right kind of questions and listen to Scripture's answers with a firm resolve to obey. Not all Christians agree about the details of the last judgment. But Scripture's basic testimony is plain.
