I made a verbal slip in my sermon when I referred to the Second Temple as having been built by Solomon. It wasn't, and I corrected that in the transcript.
Where was Jesus crucified?
He was crucified in Jerusalem, figuratively called Sodom and Egypt (Revelation 11:7-8).
Isaiah said, "Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah!" (Isaiah 1:10)
Ezekiel 16:46-52 is addressed to Judah.
The Lord Jesus warned his Jewish audience: "It will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for Sodom than for you!" (Matthew 10:15; 11:23; Luke 10:12)
Matthew 23:37 concerns the religious leaders who rejected Jesus, and Matthew 27:15-25 shows how they infected the people.
People are fighting over a piece of real estate today, but what really matters is the heavenly Jerusalem. My citizenship is there, and it'll never be taken away from me (Galatians 3:26-29; 4:25-31; Hebrews 12:22-24).
Where is yours?
