In God's mercy and kindness, we have not just a Bible and Gospel message, but overwhelming evidence it is true and trustworthy. The Apostle John in his Gospel is determined to demonstrate the veracity of what he saw and knew. His purpose was for us to believe in Christ.

Because of Jesus' work on the cross, victory over sin and life in God are secured for all who trust in Him.

I made a verbal slip in my sermon when I referred to the Second Temple as having been built by Solomon. It wasn't, and I corrected that in the transcript. Where was Jesus crucified? He was crucified in Jerusalem, figuratively called Sodom and Egypt (Revelation 11:7-8). Isaiah said, "Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah!" (Isaiah 1:10) Ezekiel 16:46-52 is addressed to Judah. The Lord Jesus warned his Jewish audience: "It will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for Sodom than for you!" (Matthew 10:15; 11:23; Luke 10:12) Matthew 23:37 concerns the religious leaders who rejected Jesus, and Matthew 27:15-25 shows how they infected the people. People are fighting over a piece of real estate today, but what really matters is the heavenly Jerusalem. My citizenship is there, and it'll never be taken away from me (Galatians 3:26-29; 4:25-31; Hebrews 12:22-24). Where is yours?
