When all God's children are safely gathered in, we will be united to Christ in a perfect everlasting union. The covenant picture of marriage describes beautifully, Christ's eternal commitment to His church. As with a bride, His people are to make ready for His return and the final consummation.

God, Who forbids the marriage bed outside of the marriage covenant, warns His people off of the marriage heart outside of betrothal by making its common consequence costly.

How did God's civil law for Israel emphasize the importance of keeping the seventh commandment? Exodus 22:16–17 looks forward to the evening sermon on the coming Lord's Day. In these two verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that God absolutely forbids sexual intercourse outside of marriage.

Bible Study 6 on the "Evils of Feminism" which looks at the destructive nature of the "Dating Culture". There are few things more important than how our young people & true born again believers get to the marriage altar safely & Biblically. Young people who are truly converted need guidance & protection from parents & church leaders to be equally yoked in marriage. Betrothal and Biblical courtship is a spiritual endeavour first, whereas dating is practice for divorce. Dating, even if it is call - Christian - violates to many Biblical truths.

Unlike the Westminster Confession, the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1677/89) does not include a statement concerning the Bible's teachings on divorce and remarriage. Our local church has supplemented the confession's teaching with a statement in our Doctrine & Distinctives addressing this important subject. Pastor Jerry's message is intended to convey our understanding of this difficult issue.

This session concludes our book/Bible Study on Jesus Unmasked. We finish our look at the aspects of the Jewish wedding "process" that points us to Jesus (the groom) and the Church (the bride).
