Israels worst attack in over 50 years happened and it makes us wonder where does this fit in scripture? Do we see this event talked about in scripture? Does this attack tell us where we are on God's timeline? Ezekiel, Psalms 83 , Matthew 24 or someplace else? We discuss options to consider and watch for. Pray for the peace of Israel.

The family is central to God's redemptive plan for humanity. But since the fall, marriage and family have been relentlessly under attack by Satan. We consider God's purpose for the family, and how He blesses families who honour Him, and follow His ways.

God provided hope despite the loss of the city and the loss of temple, through His promised restoration of both. The burning of the city. (v.12-16) The dismantling of the temple. (v.17-23) Learning to live like an exile means waiting for both the city and the temple to be rebuilt, different and better than before. After the loss of the city and temple, is there hope? Why are these verses repeated in 2 Kings 25:8-17? What is significant about Daniel's actions? Dan. 6:10-13 Where does the Christian belong? Heb. 12:22-24

God provides us with hope despite loss, by reminding us of the fulfillment of His Words of judgment (ch. 1:10), which proves that we can trust His words of restoration! The loss of personal holiness. (v.1-2) The loss of God's presence. (v.3) The loss of the king. (v.4-11) Despite the losses, the exiles retained a living hope, because of the promised sequel – the restoration of holiness, God's presence, and the kingship. How can we retain hope, when we go through loss? What was King David's prayer after sinning? Psalm 51:11 Why are these verses repeated in 2 Kings 24:18-25:30? Why are these verses repeated again in 2 Chronicles 36:22-21?

What can believers do when they're overwhelmed by affliction? Psalm 102:1–11 looks forward to the opening portion of morning public worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these eleven verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that in all affliction, even chastening from the Lord, believers can cry to the Lord Who cares for them.
