We examine one of the purposes of the word is to nourish the sheep. We only can grow strong, vibriant, healthy sound mind of mind with a well-balanced spiritual diet. The whole counsel of God is what Paul and the Apostles preached. Jesus told Peter three times to feed His sheep. That's one of the main purposes of The Word is to create right character in us.
God warns the religious leaders (shepherds) about their mistreatment of their followers (sheep). The were profiting personally and not caring for the welfare of the flock. He also warns the sheep who were mistreating each other.

"Last week in my sermon I made the statement that it is a hard time to be a woman right now in our culture. Today I want to say that it's also a hard time to be a pastor in our culture. It used to be in America that pastors were generally honored by virtue of the office they held in the church, but that now seems like a long time ago. Today pastors are almost universally looked at with suspicion and often even ridicule. And honestly as pastors we've brought a lot of this on ourselves, but for every scandalous pastor who falls to immorality or greed, there are many more faithful men still preaching the truth and serving their people, and those pastors need all the support they can get from the people they shepherd, while acknowledging that all of us, whether pastor or people, are in continual need of the grace found in the gospel. So the big takeaway from our passage this morning is that the church should care for its pastors in a way that honors God and is obedient to Scripture."
The first part of Jude is very descriptive of false teachers who penetrate the church. These two verses describe the effects upon the church. Six metaphors indicate the futility of false teaching upon the church and the damage it can cause.
How must we respond to the Triune God's redeeming us? Acts 20:28 looks forward to the morning sermon on the coming Lord's Day. In this verse of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that since the Triune God is redeeming us, we must do what He gives us to do, in the way that He says, in dependence upon Him.
How does Christ bring Christians to glory? 1Peter 5:1–4 follows up upon the morning sermon from this past Lord's Day and helps prepare for the next one. In these four verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that Christ, the Chief Shepherd who suffered and was glorified, is bringing His sheep through suffering into glory, in part by oversight from other sheep who count both the suffering and the glory worthwhile in Christ.
