The progressive fading out of Christian values in our culture is not a new phenomenon. It may be new for us. It may cause us to grieve and even tempt us to despair, but this is not the first time in history that God's people have had to work out how to live in a culture which rejects the notion of God and refuses to live according to his Word. We have exchanged the glory and truth of God for a lie, and God is handing us over to the lusts of our hearts and our wayward ways. Rather than despair in this, Paul boldly declares the gospel, knowing it alone is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Only the greater exchange which took place at Calvary can restore humanity and transform our hearts so that we will again worship the one, true, living God.

One of the BIG questions of life is, "Who am I?." Our identity determines our actions. In a world of confusion about how people identity themselves, the Bible offers freedom, a new life in Jesus. This message challenges us to move from who we were, to who we are in Jesus.

So much has happened in our culture so fast. And we as the people of God; we as the body of Christ can no longer afford to be silent. We, in the west, live in a culture of exponentially accelerating insanity. There is a definite agenda – an active undoing of what our culture has fundamentally been in the past. There is a grand conspiracy, and Satan is the author of it – a conspiracy to deny the Truth of God, the creation of God, and the existence of God. This agenda is conditioning us to ignore our own eyes and ignore our own ears so that even the most fundamental and obvious truths are called into question -- obvious truths such as "What is a woman?" This will be the first message of a series in which we will examine what God says in scripture about men and women, as well as masculinity and femininity. We will attempt to answer questions like: "What is a man, and how should a man live," as well as "What is a woman, and how should a woman live." Christian Friends, It's time we return to foundational, Biblical Christianity, and stop filtering everything we think or say through the lens of the current cultural trends. Those in the world around us -- those who disagree with us -- need to hear the truth. Speak the truth in Love, friends. Yes, but we must speak the truth. Withholding truth is neither kind nor loving. May we be bold and full of the love of Christ!

a. Marriage and family are key pieces of the story that God is telling in His cosmos. The one flesh union between a man as covenant head and a woman who is building her home ideally pictures Christ as the true and perfect covenant head, building His kingdom through the work of His bride, the church. The union is close, intimate, life-giving, and fruitful. Christian childrearing is a means of fruitfulness, dominion, and fulfilling the Great Commission no differently than evangelism and missions, and we need to treat it with the same spiritual weight. Glory is always heavy, and this is why joy can indeed accompany even heartbreak, confusion, and exhaustion. Our charge in this series is for your eyes to be opened to the glory all around you. Being a man is glorious. Being a woman is glorious. Marriage is glorious, and the little people that result from that marriage bond are glorious. Christian, you are surrounded by glory on all sides. Ask the Spirit to help you see it, and then labour in the heavy joy as you fulfill your calling as man or woman, wherever God has placed you, determining to return His gifts back to Him 30, 60, or even 100-fold.
