Worry is the result of a small faith, which can and must increase through the means of grace.
Many Christians consider worry or anxiety to be a "respectable" sin (Jerry Bridges). This passage in the Sermon on the Mount clearly tells the reader that worry is an abomination to the living and holy God.
Have you ever told somebody to "get a grip"? Sometime we have to tell ourselves that! Anger is an issue that we all struggle with, but it can be overlooked in our hearts. Pastor Zach explains what anger is and how to root it out of our lives.
In our last study we looked at the seed that fell on the wayside. This is soil that has been trampled by other people walking over it. It has been compressed and hardened by these people. The message comes to this place, but it doesn't abide. It is trampled by those who come and go and the devil symbolized by the birds comes and eats it. This is a picture of those in the church who are deceived by teachings of men. This hardens the hearts of men to the truth of God's word and the word doesn't profit them in any way. It doesn't abide. Join us as we look to the second soil with rock underneath.
The next warning for the believer to beware is that of bitterness.
